Hussein Diab Ghanem

Hussein Diab Ghanem was born in the Gambia on the 19th of February 1982. He attended Marina International school from 1987 up until his graduation from Marina High School in 2001 after achieving first an International General Certificate in Secondary Education (I.G.C.S.E) certificate and then an Advance International Certificate in Secondary Education (A.I.C.E) studying Physics, Computer Science, and Mathematics.

He moved to the United Kingdom and attended the University of Birmingham from 2001 to 2004 where he attained a Bachelor’s of Science Degree with Honours in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence.

Shortly after graduation Hussein returned back home to the Gambia and after setting up an IT startup called iLink which is now one of the most respected IT and Security Systems Providers in the country, joined Africell Gambia in February 2006 where he rose through the ranks to eventually become the Chief Executive Officer of the Biggest Company in The Gambia.

Initially an IT Engineer Hussein moved up to serve as IT Manager, IT and Billing Manager, Information Systems Director, Chief Operations Officer and currently the Chief Executive Officer of Africell Gambia.

Hussein sits on a few boards which include, Gambia Submarine Cable Company, AfriMobile Money, Africell and AfricaMedia.
