Certificate entitling Polish citizens to import weapons and ammunition from abroad for their own needs

You can submit the documents in person or through a representative.

You can make an appointment via the e-konsulat system  / by phone at (+221) 33 859 57 70.

Prepare:

• valid passport or ID card,
• proof of gun acquisition,
• weapons information card,
• information on the amount of transported ammunition, type and design of the cartridge,
• if you have – a firearms license.

He remembers! If you do not have a firearms permit – you are obliged to deposit the firearms with the competent customs authority, and within 14 days from the date of importing the firearms into the territory of the Republic of Poland, apply to the competent police authority for a firearms permit. The costs associated with the deposit of weapons and ammunition shall be borne by the person depositing the weapons and ammunition in the deposit.

Remember! Polish citizens permanently residing in the country who import arms for their own needs are obliged, when crossing the border, to report in writing to the competent customs authority the importation of arms and ammunition. You can find the application forms at the relevant customs office – they contain data that will allow for an unambiguous identification of the weapon, as well as the person bringing the weapon. The customs authority is obliged to immediately notify the competent police authority, providing the information obtained.

Inform the consul of the planned date of importation.

The fee is 60 EUR.

The consul issues certificates without undue delay, not later than within 14 days from the date of submitting the application.

Personally. You can also apply for documents to be delivered by post if you cover the cost of the postage.

In the event of refusal to perform the action, the consul will issue a decision against which you can lodge a complaint with the Minister of Foreign Affairs within 7 days. The complaint is submitted through the consul who issued the decision.
