You will get the certificate at the territorially competent Polish consular office.

Remember that after receiving a certificate entitling you to import weapons and ammunition into the territory of the Republic of Poland and export them abroad, you will be required to present the certificate to the Border Guard authorities in order to obtain a stamp confirming the crossing of the border

You can submit the documents in person or through a representative.

Prepare:

  • identification ,
  • a document entitling you to have a gun,
  • completed firearms information sheet,
  • information on the amount of transported ammunition, type and design of the cartridge.

Inform the consul about the purpose of your arrival with weapons: hunting, sports event, or historical reconstruction – preferably present an invitation or reservation.

The organizer of a hunting, sports event or historical reconstruction with the participation of foreigners should provide – at least 7 days before the planned date of the event – to the provincial Police commander competent for the place of hunting, sports event or historical reconstruction, written information about the planned date and place of the hunting, event sports or historical reconstruction and the approximate number of participants.

Inform the consul about the declared date of entry into the territory of the Republic of Poland and the date of departure.

The fee is 60 EUR.

The consul issues certificates without undue delay, not later than within 14 days from the date of submitting the application.

Personally. You can also apply for documents to be delivered by post if you cover the cost of the postage.

In the event of refusal to perform the action, the consul will issue a decision against which you can lodge a complaint with the Minister of Foreign Affairs within 7 days. The complaint is submitted through the consul who issued the decision.

Who is authorized to import and export weapons and ammunition abroad?

  • Foreigners and Polish citizens with permanent residence abroad, coming to the territory of the Republic of Poland due to participation in hunting (hunters bringing weapons to Poland for hunting purposes, may also import and export ammunition to it in the number not exceeding 100 items).
  • Foreigners or Polish citizens with permanent residence abroad coming to the territory of the Republic of Poland due to participation in sports events, the regulations of which require the use of weapons, and in order to participate in historical reconstruction, as well as in preparation for such events, may import and export weapons corresponding to sports purposes or historical reconstruction and ammunition for these weapons in the amounts specified in the invitation to the organizers of sports events or historical reconstructions
  • Foreigners or Polish citizens with permanent residence abroad who bring signal weapons to the territory of the Republic of Poland, if they are the equipment of vessels and aircraft.
